METAL-X pays particular attention to the balance between industrial excellence and environmental responsibility. Reducing its carbon footprint, modernising its premises with more energy-efficient materials and equipment, developing processes with substances that follow RoHS directives: every investment is designed to reduce the environmental impact of our activity, without compromising the quality of the treatments carried out.
Producing better, weighing less
In partnership with a specialist firm, we measured the carbon footprint of our site. This work now allows us to structure a concrete approach to energy and industrial transition.

Key figures:
Our activity generated 1,462 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e), split across two main scopes:
17%
Operational scope: 245 tCO₂e, the energy we consume directly on our site (gas, electricity) and the fuel for our lorries.
83%
Indirect scope: 1,217 tonnes CO₂e, the emissions linked to our value chain (mainly the purchase of raw materials such as silver, waste management and upstream transport).
METAL-X aims to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations by 50%. The main sources of emissions come from mobile and stationary combustion sources as well as electricity consumption. Following the carbon assessment, several actions have been launched and various avenues for improvement continue to be studied in order to sustainably reduce the site’s environmental impact:
Action 1: Optimising transport (lorries)
METAL-X aims to reduce the carbon impact of its transport by optimising rounds, raising driver awareness of eco-driving and exploring alternative fuels such as Diesel 100.
Action 2: Energy transition on natural gas
The company is studying solutions to reduce the use of natural gas, notably through biogas, renewable electricity and, in the medium term, replacing the gas boiler with an industrial heat pump.
Action 3: Energy savings and electrical efficiency
METAL-X is undertaking energy-optimisation actions through the introduction of an energy-monitoring system to track the most energy-intensive equipment, as well as improvements to the heating, compressed-air and cooling installations in order to limit energy losses.
Controlled water consumption and treatment
The company has its own water treatment plant. METAL-X relies on state-of-the-art equipment combining ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. This strategic installation guarantees that discharges comply with environmental standards and reflects a lasting commitment to protecting natural resources.

Optimised flows, better-managed energy
- Pooled rounds: METAL-X optimises its logistics flows to limit the environmental impact of its transport while ensuring customer satisfaction. Pooling rounds, daily shuttles and consolidating shipments significantly reduce the number of journeys and the associated CO₂ emissions.
- The logistics building incorporates over 900 m² of solar panels contributing to on-site renewable energy production.
- A new 100% electric lorry has joined our vehicle fleet.
