Technical co-development & custom solutions
METAL-X positions itself not merely as a surface treatment provider, but as a genuine technical partner to its customers. On specific projects, the METAL-X teams work directly with design offices, quality departments and chemical formulators to design treatment solutions fully tailored to the functional, regulatory and environmental constraints of each application.
This co-development approach makes it possible to support manufacturers in the transition to new chemistries, anticipating regulatory changes while maintaining the required performance levels. An in-house laboratory, a dedicated treatment line and multidisciplinary expertise are the pillars of this ability to innovate alongside customers.
The laboratory is also fully aligned with HSE issues and the reduction of the company’s environmental footprint. For trials requiring specific equipment or certifications, METAL-X draws on a network of specialist partners to guarantee a complete, no-compromise response.
Validation & pilot trials
Before series production, every process undergoes a rigorous research phase involving upstream trials, adjustments during treatment and final checks.
In the development phase, the laboratory runs pilot trials to define and optimise the process parameters (bath composition, treatment time, current density, temperature) according to the part constraints and the specifications. This work anticipates the behaviour of the material and secures the technical choices before launch.
During production, regular monitoring is carried out through bath analysis and control of the critical parameters. A weekly schedule, based on technical recommendations and field experience, ensures chemical stability and the reproducibility of treatments.
Finally, checks are carried out after treatment to validate the conformity of the parts: corrosion tests (salt spray), visual inspections, thickness measurements, colorimetric tests and microscopic examination to detect any defects.
These operations are carried out at every stage of the process by a dedicated team, including an engineer specialising in chemistry, metallurgy and process optimisation.
