As part of a drive for continuous improvement and operational excellence, METAL-X has begun rolling out a new ERP with barcode tracking at every stage of the production process.
This system guarantees full traceability of batches and operations, from receiving the parts through to their dispatch, via every treatment and quality-control step. This approach will soon be reinforced by deploying RFID tags, to automate tooling traceability and further refine flow management.
Every operation is thus time-stamped, identified and archived, ensuring compliance with the ISO and IATF 16949 standards.

To support these ambitions, a newly installed 8th treatment line now raises production capacity to an unprecedented level and confirms the industrial development path pursued in recent years: that of a company geared towards the technical markets of tomorrow.
Industry 4.0 and optimisation of industrial flows
To optimise its internal flows and strengthen its production capacity, METAL-X is progressively deploying AGVs (automated guided vehicles) across its industrial site. This equipment helps smooth internal logistics, reduce manual handling and improve the overall productivity of the workshops.
The control of the treatment lines and the addition of chemical products is automated, ensuring optimal process repeatability and consistency in the quality of the deposits produced.
All of these automations rely on a solid infrastructure: the ERP, custom-developed for METAL-X, and the Schneider Electric controllers fitted on the production lines. This coupling between business software and benchmark industrial hardware ensures rigorous control of production parameters, increased responsiveness and full traceability of operations.
The system also provides real-time feedback on mobile phones 24/7: teams can remotely view the status of the installations, intervene immediately, change operating parameters or shut down certain lines if necessary. All production data is also collected and centralised to ensure precise monitoring, continuous performance analysis and optimal use of industrial data.
